Contract Opportunity

Business Analyst to be a part of Custom Application Development team supporting agile delivery of innovative mobile and web applications for Enterprise HES function. The position will sit in Houston, TX. The position is slated through November 2019 at this time, but will most likely be extended through the next 2 years.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in business or related field required
  • 5+ years of IT experience in a BA role required within large Enterprise environment
  • 3+ years Agile/SCRUM experience as an IT BA specifically in Story/Acceptance criteria development required
  • MUST be able to write user stories and document acceptance criteria required
  • Ability to effectively work with multiple local and remote teams and influence/drive to deliver results
  • Self-motivated and results oriented with ability to see tasks through to completion without significant guidance
  • Ability to facilitate discussion at all levels of the organization to resolve conflicts.
  • Demonstrates good oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent documentation skills including familiarity with requirements documentation techniques such as user stories, use cases, data/process flows, wireframes and informal modeling required
  • Candidates local to Houston required
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook required
  • Unit and integration testing experience required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience utilizing Agile DevOps (ADO)/TSS to backlog user stories or requirements big plus
  • Any Agile/Scrum or IT certifications would be a plus (Scrum Master certification would be overqualified for this position)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing an Agile SCRUM approach, the Business Analyst will work with the Product Owners to develop user stories, acceptance criteria, data flows, and wireframes for handover to Development Teams.
  • Organize and lead story grooming and refinement sessions with the product owner and the tech teams that are impacted
  • Collaborates with the agile team including Scrum Master or Team Lead and product owner to prioritize and estimate stories and to finalize sprint scope
  • Lead QA/Test efforts for the agile team with internal test execution, inclusive of documenting results, managing and tracking defects, and trouble-shooting issues that arise out of testing
  • Ensures that the latest project progress is captured in project tracking tool (ADO) by participating and as needed leading daily stand-ups outlining progress made, progress planned and detailing impediments for assigned user stories and dev tasks
