Contract Specialist

Contract Opportunity

Location: San Ramon, CA (Locals only)

The Contract Specialist is responsible for administering civil and electrical construction contracts for all aspects of work within Electric Transmission Operations. The Specialist is responsible for the procurement of civil and electrical transmission line/substation construction, engineering, and consulting services to achieve the highest safety level and best value for internal clients, in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED Minimum of 3 years writing contracts or other outsourcing documents
  • Superior writing and communication skills
  • Excellent organization and people skills - ability to work and interact with diverse groups of people (internal and external), ability to gather and assimilate information from large groups of people, and ability to communicate effectively and professionally with people.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed with a propensity towards action and results
  • Strong work ethic
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare contracts, RFPs and other outsourcing documents for staff based on a variety of needs.
  • Successful candidates will require skills to assimilate information from staff and write comprehensive contracts based on the info provided.
  • Ensure contracts comply with company and departmental policies.
  • This will require coordinating and interacting with Purchasing and Law departments, as well as other departments as needed.
  • Create systematic and streamlined process within the department for writing contracts, processing contracts, reviewing contracts and managing contract from identification through execution.
  • This will also involve creating templates using standardized language that has been approved by the Law Department, particularly for legal terms and conditions, for contracts across the department and developing a system for utilizing these templates.
  • Coordinate and oversee contracts from identification through execution.
  • Successful candidates will also coordinate the execution of the contract through change orders, modifications and revisions.
  • Interact with both internal and external parties to develop contracts.
